This page explains how to delete your Flightbook account and what happens to your data when you do.

How to Delete Your Account

You can delete your Flightbook account directly from within the mobile app by following these steps:

  1. Open the Flightbook mobile app
  2. Navigate to Account
  3. Select Account Data
  4. Tap Delete Account
  5. Confirm your deletion request

What Happens When You Delete Your Account

Immediate Account Deactivation

When you confirm account deletion, your account is immediately deactivated:

  • You will no longer be able to log in or use your account
  • All app functionality associated with your account will be inaccessible
  • Your account cannot be used for any purpose
  • The deactivation is immediate and irreversible without contacting support

Data Retention and Deletion Timeline

While your account is immediately deactivated, your data follows a specific deletion timeline to allow for account recovery if you change your mind:

  • Days 1-30: Your data is retained solely for account recovery purposes. If you contact our support team within this 30-day period, we can restore your account and data. During this time, your data is not used for any other purpose.
  • After 30 days: All your data is permanently and irrevocably deleted from our systems. This includes your personal information, flight logs, lesson history, and all account details. Account recovery will no longer be possible.

Important: This 30-day data retention period is provided solely to enable account recovery and complies with our legitimate interest in preventing accidental data loss. After 30 days, the deletion is final and cannot be undone.

Data Retention Policy

Our data retention practices for deleted accounts:

  • During the 30-day grace period: Your data is retained in our systems solely to allow account recovery if you request it. The data is not used for any other purpose.
  • After 30 days: All personal data, including email address, flight logs, lesson records, instructor information, and any other account-related data is permanently deleted from our databases.

This is true account deletion, not temporary deactivation or account freezing. Once deleted, your account is removed from our active systems immediately.

Before You Delete

Please consider the following before deleting your account:

  • Make sure you have exported or saved any flight logs or data you wish to keep
  • Inform any instructors or flight schools you work with about your account deletion
  • Cancel any active subscriptions or bookings
  • Remember that after 30 days, all data will be permanently lost
